Interviewed by Snipcart

Last week, Snipcart interviewed me as part of their Geek Talk series. In this wide-ranging exposé, we cover such thrilling topics as my favourite programmer and favourite quote, and we even find time to discuss some developer-type things.

Introducing Glossary for Craft

Today, we’re proud to release Glossary, a new Craft plugin.

Glossary makes it easy to implement a list of entries, grouped by X and ordered by Y. For example:

  • A list of staff members, grouped by the first letter of their surname, and ordered by forename;
  • A list of countries, grouped by continent, and ordered by population;
  • A list of recipes, grouped by cooking method, and ordered by cooking time.

It’s possible to achieve all of the above using Twig, but the result is messy and difficult to test.

Glossary keeps your templates neat, and has a suite of unit tests to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Testee 2.2

Yesterday I released Testee 2.2, which contains a significant new feature: automated testing.

You can now run an add-on’s test suite by loading an “ACTion” URL; Testee does your bidding, and returns the results as JSON.

Hull Digital Live 2012

The Hull Digital Live conference is back for another installment, on 1st November 2012.

This will be the third HD Live conference, and it’s maturing nicely into one of the UK’s best technology conferences. So much so that this year we’re sponsoring the event, in a very minor way.

Interviewed at Meta Q

A few months ago, I received an email from Lindsay at Meta Q, asking if I’d be interested in answering a few questions for their ongoing series of interviews with people from the ExpressionEngine community. Today, said interview has finally been published.
